On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the culmination of years of struggle, declaring that "Ram Lalla (child Lord Ram) is here." Speaking to a large gathering in Ayodhya after the 'Pran Pratishtha' rituals at the Ram temple, he expressed the profound impact of the inauguration, which occurred four years post the landmark Supreme Court judgment.
PM Modi emphasized that Ram is not a dispute but a solution, resonating deeply with the devotees of Ram worldwide. He commended the Indian judiciary for ensuring justice in the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid dispute, acknowledging the decades-long legal battle over the existence of Lord Ram.
"Lauding the historic moment of the temple inauguration, the Prime Minister remarked that Indians have tackled a 'complicated past,' but the future looks bright from now on. He expressed his joy that Lord Ram will no longer reside in a tent, stating, 'Today our Ram has arrived after generations of waiting.'"
Addressing the significance of the date, January 22, 2024, PM Modi termed it as not just a date but the advent of a new era. He apologized to Lord Shri Ram, acknowledging the shortcomings in past efforts and sacrifices. He expressed his belief that Lord Shri Ram would forgive them now that the monumental work has been completed.
Reflecting on his journey from Sagar to Saryu, the Prime Minister observed the festive spirit of Ram's name everywhere. He highlighted Ram as not just a dispute but the solution, universal and eternal. The opening of the Ram Mandir was described as a "humbling moment," and PM Modi urged everyone to light a Ram Jyoti at home.
Taking a dig at those questioning India's social fabric, the Prime Minister noted that he heard many verses from the epic Ramayana during the journey to the temple. Following the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented a silver model of the Ram temple to Prime Minister Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
