The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) national president, J. P. Nadda, unveiled the party's manifesto for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly polls, outlining a range of promises and commitments.
Among the notable pledges, the BJP vowed to introduce saving bonds for girl children, offering free scooters to deserving girls, initiating SIT (Special Investigation Team) probes into corruption cases, and establishing "mahila thanas" (women's police stations) in every district.
Additionally, the party pledged a subsidy of Rs 450 on LPG cylinders for Ujjwala beneficiaries, a bonus of Rs 2,700 per quintal on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat, and the formation of a committee to compensate farmers whose land has been seized.
To bolster women's safety, the BJP proposed setting up anti-Romeo forces in cities and establishing women's desks in every police station. They also announced plans to provide free scooters to meritorious girl students after completing Class 12 and promised to generate government jobs for 2.5 lakh individuals over five years.
Highlighting the fight against corruption, the BJP pledged to form an SIT to investigate alleged scams within the Gehlot government, encompassing various areas such as paper leaks, the Jal Jeevan Mission, and the old-age pension scheme, ensuring appropriate action against offenders.
The party introduced the Lado Incentive Scheme, mirroring Madhya Pradesh's Ladli Lakshmi Scheme, aiming to grant a saving bond of Rs 2 lakh to newborn daughters, alongside annual financial support during different academic stages and professional studies, culminating in a substantial amount upon reaching adulthood.
Further, the BJP proposed the establishment of the Rajasthan Institute of Technology and the Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences, akin to IITs and AIIMS, demonstrating their focus on youth-centric educational initiatives.
Nadda accused the Congress of corruption, nepotism, and mismanagement, citing instances of alleged scams and contracts given to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's family. He highlighted the BJP's perception of the Congress' tenure as marred by corruption, disrespect towards women, negligence towards farmers, and injustices against marginalized communities.
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Sankalp Patra Committee convener, revealed that the manifesto was crafted after engaging with over 1 crore people and receiving an equivalent number of suggestions over a two-and-a-half-month period. These inputs heavily influenced the content of the party's electoral promises.
