Rahul Gandhi insulted crores of Hindus, claim BJP leaders

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his controversial statement against Hindus, which he made while delivering his first speech as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha.

Home Minister Amit Shah hit back hard at Rahul Gandhi's comment saying that the latter insulted millions of Hindus and an apology needs to be tendered for the statement.

BJP National President J.P. Nadda took to social media platform X to severely criticize Rahul Gandhi, arguing that the Leader of the Opposition, now a five-time MP, has neither learned Parliamentary norms nor understands civility.

"First day, worst show! Lies + Hindu hatred = Rahul Gandhi Ji in Parliament. Third Time Fail LoP has a knack for agitated, flawed logic. His speech today has shown that neither has he understood the mandate of 2024 (his third successive loss) nor does he have any humility," Nadda stated.

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare accused Rahul Gandhi of showing intrinsic hate towards Hindus, stating, "This is the same person who was telling foreign diplomats that Hindus are terrorists. This intrinsic hate towards Hindus must stop... Time and again, he reduces the levels of discourse. His utterances towards the Chair today were in very poor taste. He owes an apology to the Chair for casting unsubstantiated aspersions on his integrity and personality."

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman accused Rahul Gandhi of 'mohabbat ki dukaan' being exposed by mentioning his audacity to call Hindus as 'hinsak,' violent, showing how much Congress has contempt toward Hindus.

It was the statement of Rahul Gandhi condemned by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal as an insult to millions of Hindus. "I strongly condemn such controversial and extremely shameful statement which violates the dignity of the Leader of the Opposition. Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the Hindu society for this," he said.

Utterly shameful, disgraceful and demeaning" is how Union Minister For Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy referred to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's statement, stating the Congress leader should apologize to the entire Hindu community. He added that Rahul Gandhi's remarks exposed the Congress' anti-Hindu agenda.

Referring to the earlier incidents of unparliamentary behavior, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh pressed home his point and underlined that Parliamentary proceedings are regulated by rules and also by demolition of healthy traditions. He urged opposition members to discuss any topic only after the motion of thanks to the President is passed in Parliament.

Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju joined the chorus of condemnation of Rahul Gandhi's remarks: "I condemn Rahul Gandhi Ji for terming Hindus as violent, hateful and untruthful community. He can't insult Hindus without any reasons,"
