Kremlin Confirms Final Preparations for PM Modi's Key Visit to Russia

Final preparations for the forthcoming visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russia are underway, and dates for the visit will be announced shortly, the spokesperson for the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, announced on Tuesday. He was pretty optimistic about the visit because that was going to yield maybe some kind of joint agreements which, therefore, will help their relationship get even better between Russia and India. Prime Minister Modi earlier visited Russia in the year 2019 for the 20th India-Russia Bilateral Summit held in Vladivostok where he became the chief guest of the 5th Eastern Economic Summit. This visit proved to be an inflection point in India's outreach in the Russian Far East and its deepening engagement in energy, transportation, defense, trade, and investments.

Indeed, PM Modi refused to participate in the Astana SCO Council of the Heads of State meeting. This means his visit to Moscow is something big and marks his first official trip to Russia since 2015.
