Prime Minister Modi's Visit to Arichalmunai, Offers Floral Tributes at Seashore

Arichalmunai is believed to be the location where the legendary Ram Setu, also known as Adam's Bridge, was constructed by Lord Ram with the assistance of the 'Vaanara sena' to reach Lanka for the battle against Ravana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook a visit to Arichalmunai, the southern tip of Tamil Nadu, as part of his series of Ramayana-connected visits in the state. During his visit, the Prime Minister paid homage at the seashore, engaging in 'pranayama' (breathing exercise) and offering prayers using the sea water.

Arichalmunai is believed to be the location where the legendary Ram Setu, also known as Adam's Bridge, was constructed by Lord Ram with the assistance of the 'Vaanara sena' to reach Lanka for the battle against Ravana. PM Modi, who spent the night in Rameswaram, drove to Arichalmunai to connect with this significant historical and mythological site.

On the seashore, the Prime Minister laid flowers and paid respects at a pillar adorned with the national emblem. This visit is part of his 3-day tour of Tamil Nadu, which included inaugurating the Khelo India Games 2023 in Chennai.

During the tour, PM Modi also visited the Sri Ranganathaswamy and Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy temples in Srirangam and Rameswaram, respectively. These temple visits hold a Ramayana connection and align with the upcoming consecration of the grand Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, scheduled for Monday.

The Prime Minister's recent temple visits in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala also emphasized their Ramayana relevance, reflecting the cultural and religious diversity of the region. PM Modi's engagements underscore the significance of these historical and sacred sites in the lead-up to the momentous event at Ayodhya.
