The day preceding his nomination filing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi orchestrated a spectacular roadshow in his Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, expressing his commitment to further serve the sacred city during his third term.
Overwhelmed by the outpouring of affection, Modi reminisced, "I am overwhelmed and emotional! I did not even realise how 10 years passed under the shade of your affection. I had said that Maa Ganga had called me. Aaj Maa Ganga ne mujhe god le liya hai (today Maa Ganga has adopted me)."
Modi, contesting for a third consecutive term from Varanasi, embarked on a six-kilometer journey amidst a sea of saffron, culminating at the Kashi Vishwanath temple where he offered prayers. He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming warmth and affection of the people, emphasizing his resolve to transform Varanasi into a divine and grand city.
In a heartfelt message, Modi stated, "I have to do a lot more in the third term of the NDA government for this parliamentary constituency that resides in my heart. As a servant of the people, it has always been my endeavor to make the lives of the people of Kashi easier." He expressed confidence that a developed Varanasi would significantly contribute to the vision of a developed India and Uttar Pradesh.
Acknowledging the blessings of Baba Vishwanath, Modi affirmed his unwavering dedication to serving Kashi. He expressed, "With the blessings of Baba Vishwanath, I will always remain dedicated to the service of his Kashi. Jai Baba Vishwanath!"
The roadshow attracted people from various communities, who lined the barricaded roads, balconies, and rooftops, waving saffron flags and offering cultural performances along the route. Modi's journey, marked by reverence and fervor, began at Malviya Chauraha and traversed through significant landmarks before culminating at the Kashi Vishwanath temple.
Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other BJP leaders, Modi's nomination filing is anticipated to witness the presence of prominent political figures. The elaborate itinerary includes offering prayers at the Kaal Bhairav temple, a cruise trip to the Namo Ghat, and participation in the Ganga Saptami rituals.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and leaders from various NDA parties are expected to join the nomination filing ceremony, underscoring the significance of Modi's candidature for Varanasi.
