Prime Minister Modi Urges NDA MPs to Adhere to Parliamentary Rules

MPs, he urged, must not make unnecessary comments to the media. Instead, their duty is to spend more time in their constituency and come well-prepared to Parliament.

Following up on the controversial speech of Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the NDA MPs at the Balyogi Auditorium in Parliament on Tuesday. In the session, PM asked them to follow the parliamentary procedures very strictly and conduct exemplary behaviour on the floor of theHouse.

Cross-sectional representation in expected attendance at the meeting includes Union Ministers: Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Dharmendra Pradhan, J.P. Nadda, Pralhad Joshi, Chirag Paswan, Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh, Ramdas Athawale, and Jitan Ram Manjhi, among several other cabinet ministers.

This was the first meeting of the Parliamentary Board of the NDA following Prime Minister Modi's win for the third consecutive time in the Parliamentary elections. Later in the day, the Prime Minister was to reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President's address in the Lok Sabha amidst loud protests by BJP MPs over Rahul Gandhi's remarks. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had sought an apology from the Congress MP.
