PM Modi's Endorsement of the BJP-Shiv Sena Alliance

"Had a great meeting with Shiv Sena MPs. Ours is not a political alliance - it is a time-tested friendship, bound together by common ideals and a shared vision for India's development," Modi tweeted on his social media account after the meeting.

The Prime Minister asserted that the BJP-Shiv Sena relationship in Maharashtra had been a test of friendship of fifty years standing, with the basic frame being one of shared value systems and a mutual commitment to building India. The PM met Shiv Sena and NCP MPs. The newly elected representatives from Maharashtra, led by the chief ministers of both parties, called on the Prime Minister and congratulated him for winning a third term in succession.

Modi also praised Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for his relentless efforts to bring progress to the state by focusing on fulfilling the ideals of late Balasaheb Thackeray. Some of the developmental activities in Maharashtra were discussed in the meeting in which top leaders like Maha Vikas Aghadi Shiv Sena's Shrikant Shinde and NCP Sunil Tatkare participated.

The BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP have confirmed the coalition to fight the Assembly election together just at a time when the process of polling is scheduled in the month of September-October in Maharashtra. During the visit, the delegation presented Modi with a statue of Vitthal Rakhumai, which depicts cultural and spiritual value.
