Tamilisai Soundararajan, who recently stepped down from her roles as the Governor of Telangana and the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, is reportedly gearing up to enter the political arena once again. According to sources within the Tamil Nadu BJP, she is poised to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as a BJP candidate from the Chennai South constituency.
Soundararajan boasts a strong political background, having previously served as the president of the Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Her close ties with party cadres and RSS workers are widely acknowledged, further bolstering her candidacy.
It's worth noting that Soundararajan hails from a distinguished political family. Her father, Kumari Ananthan, is a prominent figure in the Congress party and has previously held the position of Member of Parliament. Additionally, her late uncle, H. Vasanthakumar, was a Congress MP representing the Kanniyakumari constituency.
