Approval ratings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government have risen to the highest since the Covid-19 pandemic began, news agency Bloomberg reported quoting a LocalCircles survey. The survey, however, points out that concerns over the rising prices of essential items and unemployment are still there.
A total of 67% of 64,000 people, who participated in this survey, said that PM Modi has either met or exceeded expectations in his second term. Of these 67%, 34% said the government met their expectations while 33% of citizens said the government has exceeded their expectations. It's a jump from 51% registered last year when India was going through a brutal second wave of Coronavirus that took millions of lives.
In people's opinion, the government was better prepared to handle a third wave of Covid19 and had effectively managed the economy.
However, 47% people said India hasn't been able to address the issue of unemployment while 37% agreed that the government has addressed the issue of unemployment in the last 3 years.
