PM Modi to address women's rally in Barasat on March 6, may meet Sandeshkhali victims

When questioned about the possibility of the Prime Minister meeting the women from Sandeshkhali, situated in the same district of North 24 Parganas, Majumdar responded,  "If the sisters and mothers of Sandeshkhali want to meet Modi, we will definitely arrange it."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a women's rally in Barasat, located in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, on March 6, West Bengal BJP president, Sukanta Majumdar, announced on Thursday.

Majumdar expressed that if the distressed women from Sandeshkhali demonstrate interest in meeting the Prime Minister, the party will facilitate such an interaction.

"Today, we came to know that the prime minister will be visiting the state on March 6 and will address a women's rally at Barasat,"  Majumdar informed the press.

Numerous women in Sandeshkhali have leveled accusations against Shajahan Sheikh, a prominent figure in the Trinamool Congress, and his supporters, alleging "land-grabbing and sexual assault" under duress.

Shajahan has been evading authorities since a group, purportedly linked to him, assaulted officials from the Enforcement Directorate who were conducting a search at his premises regarding a ration scam on January 5.
