Celebrating India's vibrant youth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the nation's potential to surpass boundaries in various fields. During the inauguration of the 27th National Youth Festival-2024, the Prime Minister encouraged young individuals to engage in politics, advocating for their involvement as a means to diminish the influence of dynasty politics.
Acknowledging India as the Mother of Democracy, Modi expressed the global confidence in the nation and highlighted the pivotal role of youth participation in shaping a prosperous future. He urged youngsters to actively contribute to nation-building, emphasizing their ability to counter dynastic politics. The Prime Minister also urged first-time voters to exercise their voting rights, recognizing their potential to infuse energy into the democratic process.
In his address, Modi praised the youthful spirit prevailing in the country, emphasizing India's leadership in technology and the pride associated with the era of 'Amrit Kaal.' He called upon the youth to propel India forward during this auspicious period and contribute to the development of a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India).
Modi outlined the upcoming 25 years of 'Amrit Kaal' as a duty-bound period for the youth, underscoring the importance of societal and national progress through dedicated efforts. He encouraged the promotion of local products, endorsing the use of 'Made in India' items. Additionally, he urged the youth to abstain from drugs, speak out against derogatory language towards women, and collectively combat societal evils.
The Prime Minister commended the youth for being part of a unique moment in the nation's history, drawing parallels with the contributions of historical figures like Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Savitri Phule, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Batukeshwar Dutt, Major Dhyan Chand, and M. Visvesvaraya. Modi expressed confidence in the current generation's ability to fulfill their responsibilities and take India to unprecedented heights.
Highlighting the government's commitment to empowering youth, Modi cited the elimination of obstacles and the provision of extensive opportunities during its decade in power. He emphasized India's recognition as a skilled force globally and the benefits derived from mobility agreements with countries such as France, Germany, the UK, Australia, Italy, and Austria.
Concluding his address, the Prime Minister called on the youth to pursue their dreams, overcome challenges, and set new goals. He outlined national objectives, including achieving a $5 trillion economy, securing the position of the third-largest global economy, establishing India as a manufacturing hub, and actively addressing climate change through the promotion of natural farming.
The event witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur, and Union Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Nisith Pramanik.
