I cannot say that everyone is innocent. I want to clearly say that the money recovered from the residence of a woman (Arpita Mukherjee in this case) has no connection either with the Trinamool or the state government.

After a direction from the Calcutta High Court, Chatterjee, who's also the Secretary General of Trinamool Congress, was flown to Bhubaneswar for medical check-up on Monday morning following his arrest by the ED in connection with the multi-crore teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal.
4 Congress Lok Sabha MPs suspended for entire Monsoon Session

The four Congress MPs -- Manickam Tagore, Ramya Haridas, Jothimani and T.N. Prathapan -- have been suspended for the entire Monsoon Session ending August 12 for holding protests with placards inside the House. Speaker Om Birla had earlier warned them to behave and not to hold the placards inside the house if they wanted to protest.
Trinamool joins Oppn ranks, alleges protocol violation during Prez swearing-in

The opposition has written a letter to the Chairman of the House wherein it has alleged that there was a protocol violation in the sitting arrangement for the Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition. The letter signed by several opposition members said, "Today at the swearing-in ceremony of the hon'ble President, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, LOP in the Rajya Sabha was made to sit in a seat not commensurate with the position he holds."
LS Speaker asks Opposition not to hold placards inside House

The House was adjourned till 3 p.m. The opposition members staged a protest against inflation and the hike in the GST rates. Some MPs were seen holding placards and banners against. The Speaker warned them and asked not to violate the rules of the House.

Defending Kumar's absence, Janata Dal-United parliamentary board chief Upendra Kushwaha asserted that the chief minister is not bound to attend all the events. Responding to the proposed visit of BJP leaders Amit Shah and J.P. Nadda to Patna for a high-level meeting of the party ahead of Lok Sabha election 2024, Kushwaha stated: "In Bihar, Nitish Kumar is the biggest leader. It hardly matters for us if any top leader of another party is coming to Bihar."
ED suspects assets recovered from Arpita Mukherjee's residence just a small portion of actual reserve

While recovering the assets, the ED sleuths have come across some other incriminating documents that hint of a large amount of cash transfers by Mukherjee using the route of private money transfer agents.These documents also suggest that a certain amount of cash was also transferred through the hawala route to Bangladesh.The assets recovered si far is Rs 21.20 crore worth of Indian currency, gold ornaments of estimated market value of around Rs 90 lakhs.
Uddhav camp moves SC seeking stay on ECI proceedings on Shinde camp's plea

The plea filed by general secretary of Shiv Sena Subhash Desai submitted that the respondents purportedly have initiated proceedings under para 15 of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968 (Symbols Order) interalia seeking to be recognised as the "real Shiv Sena" by the ECI, and are claiming the right to use the election symbol allotted to Shivsena -- "bow and arrow".
Azam Khan seeks 'Z' category security, cites threat to life

Expressing security concerns, Azam Khan said, "I had 'Z' category security earlier. It was withdrawn by the present state government. Even a senior police officer recommended it. 'Y' category security is being offered to me at present, but it looks similar to the security cover provided to every MLA. I want my earlier security to be reinstated as I face many threats due to all the cases filed against me." Azam was released in May on bail after being lodged in Sitapur jail for almost 27 months.
