KCR is a new Nizam, says Nadda

Addressing a public meeting at Hanamkonda town, he slammed Chief Minister KCR for imposing restrictions on public meetings and compared this with the last diktat of Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, the last ruler of the erstwhile Hyderabad state. Nadda was addressing the public meeting at Hanamkonda Arts College ground to mark the culmination of the third phase of state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar's Praja Sangrama Yatra.

Police sources said Gaonkar, who had allegedly supplied drugs to the accused persons arrested earlier, was detained on Saturday morning for questioning. Later, he and Edwin Nunes, owner of Curlies restaurant in Anjuna, where Sonali Phogat had partied before her death, was also arrested. A court in Goa on Saturday granted a 10-day police custody of Sudhir Sangwan (PA of Phogat) and Sukhwinder Singh, the two accused persons arrested in the murder case.

Earlier in the day, the JMM-led coalition held a meeting at the Chief Minister's house to decide their strategy and future course of action. This was the fourth meeting of the coalition in the past three days. The meeting was attended by 42 MLAs including Soren, Rameshwar Oraon, Alamgir Alam. The political crisis in the state started after the Election Commission disqualified the Assembly membership of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in connection with the office of profit case.

What options does Hemant Soren have now?

In February this year, senior BJP leader and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das had alleged that Soren had got a mining lease issued for himself, which was clear violation of the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. It was alleged that Soren hid this fact in his affidavit submitted at the time of contesting the Assembly elections in 2019.
