BJP govt moving to ensure exit of Muslim traders from temples in Karnataka: Sources

Already, the state government has declared on the floor of the House that there is no provision for non-Hindus to carry out their business on temple premises and religious fairs. The government plans to implement the rule through the Muzrai department which manages more than 30,000 temples in the state. The department has given clear instructions on not allowing Muslim vendors from participating in the auction of shops on the premises of temples, said Muzarai department sources.
Mehbooba Mufti placed under house arrest

Mehbooba Mufti alleged that she intended to visit the family of the Kashmiri Pandit in Shopian district who was attacked by militants in his native village on April 6. Reacting to the decision to place her under house arrest, Mehbooba Mufti said on her Twitter page, "Placed under house arrest today because I wanted to visit the family of the Kashmiri pandit attacked in Shopian. GOI wilfully spreads fake propaganda about Kashmiri mainstream & muslims responsible for pandit exodus & doesn't want this fake divisive narrative to be exposed."
Bihar bypolls: Braving heat, voters turn up in large numbers

According to the Election Commission, 11.20 per cent voting was registered in first two hours of polling at 9 a.m. Polling began at 7 a.m. in 350 polling booths across the constituency. Despite high temperature, women were stepping out of their houses to exercise their franchise since morning. Several voters claimed that they are casting votes for a change of government in the state.
MP Govt initiates action against Khargone rioters, Cong questions Kapil Mishra's visit

In a joint operation by the district administration and the police, several buildings were bulldozed in the Khargone city area where the incidents took place. Nearly half-a-dozen JCB machines (bulldozers) started demolishing the illegal buildings of rioters. The action came soon after CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a meeting with DGP Sudhir Kumar Saxena and other top bureaucrats including the chief secretary and the principal secretary of the state home department in Bhopal on Monday.
Five Deputy CMs in Jagan's new ministry

Amjad Basha and Narayana Swamy are the only ministers who retained the posts of Deputy Chief Ministers in the new Cabinet. Amjad Basha will look after the minority welfare department while Narayana Swamy will handle the excise portfolio. The controversy erupted after Zawahiri in a nine-minute video praised Muskan, a college student from Mandya district, for raising the slogan 'Allahu Akbar' to counter a mob chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' in the college premises at the height of the hijab crisis in Karnataka. In the video titled 'The Noble Woman of India', Zawahiri could be heard reciting a poem he composed to praise Muskan.
