Patil made the caustic remarks when questioned about the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) head's recent praise for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. "Earlier, he lauded Gujarat, now he is praising UP. He will go all around the country, visiting and appreciating all other states except Maharahtra. As long as Uddhav Thackeray is the CM, he (Raj Thackeray) will not have a good word for this state," Patil said.

Assam court grants bail to Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani

Mevani was again arrested by the Barpeta police on April 25 on different charges, including "outraging the modesty of a lady police officer" soon after the Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Kokrajhar district granted him bail. Mevani's lawyer Angshuman Bora on Friday said that his (Mevani's) bail application was granted by the Barpeta District Sessions court on a personal bond and surety of Rs 1,000.

Less than one day coal left in many places: Delhi Minister

Raising the alarm over the ongoing coal crisis, Jain said, "No (power) backup (is there)... (the) coal backup should be for over 21 days, but at many power plants, less than a day's (stock) is left". He further added, "If electricity is being produced, and we keep getting it, there's no issue. But if the power plant shuts down it will be problematic (in Delhi)...There's a coal shortage in the country," said Jain in a media briefing, a day after he held an emergency meeting over the issue.
