Delhi bypoll a contest between local and outsider: BJP
The BJP started by pointing out that Bhatia, a former BJP state unit general secretary, is a local and has been doing public service for years as a worker and elected representative during his five year term as municipal councilor. The BJP said that the AAP has made Pathak, an imported leader its candidate from Rajinder Nagar who was earlier rejected by people of Karawal Nagar.
Having failed with Shias, BJP eyes OBC Muslims to make inroads into community
The Central Minority Commission is headed by a Sikh, while earlier a Muslim Ghairul Hasan Rizvi, another Shia, was at the helm. Now sources in the BJP say that though the Shias are a minority within a minority except in Lucknow and some other pockets, the BJP is not able to make inroads within the community. Political analyst Shakil Akhtar says, "It's not about Shia or Sunni, the BJP does not need Muslims as the party has upped the Hindutva plank which has given political benefits to the ruling party."

The majority of the political parties including the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and the RJD claimed that post the survey, the state government will be in a better position to make policies for marginalized people but the larger picture is to use it as a tool for a poll strategy against the BJP. The saffron party has a clear poll strategy to polarize Hindu voters which are in a majority in the country with a 80% vote share while 20% belongs to other religious groups including the Muslim community.
Wishes pour in for Yogi on his birthday
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished Yogi Adityanath on his 50th birthday. He termed Yogi Adityanath as 'a dynamic chief minister' and said that 'under his leadership, the state has scaled new heights of progress'. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also extended warm wishes to the chief minister. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, too, wished for the chief minister on his birthday. BSP supremo Mayawati tweeted: "Hearty congratulations to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on his birthday today and wish him a long life."
BJP to capitalise on Modi magic to pull off record victory in Gujarat
It is widely believed that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not taken charge of the campaign in the last round in 2017, it would have been very difficult for the BJP to form the government there. Not Gujjar or Rajput, Prithviraj Chauhan is 'Hindu Hriday Samrat'
A statue of emperor Prithviraj is to be unveiled at Dullakhedi village in Shamli on June 7. BJP leader and former minister Suresh Rana has been invited as chief guest for the event. Gujjars in the area had raised objections to Chauhan being referred to as a Rajput king. They claimed that he belonged to the Gujjar community. Situ Rana, who is part of the organising team, said, "We received information about some protests from the Gujjar community, but our intention is not to hurt anyone's feelings.
TN BJP chief a favourite of Central leadership despite discontent in state unit
Appreciating the work of Annamalai, a top BJP leader said that despite being new in politics, he is working hard to strengthen the party at the ground level. "People of Tamil Nadu are looking for freshness and change politics. He (Annamalai) has brought a new style and freshness in political functioning. Assam govt denies CM's family's involvement in PPE kits supply 'scam'
The opposition Congress, Trinamool Congress, Raijor Dal and Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) and other political parties have been demanding a Supreme Court monitored probe or by the central agencies in the matter. Assam's Information and Public Relations Minister Pijush Hazarika, who is also the state government's spokesman, said there was no irregularity in the supply of PPE kits and no member of Sarma's family was involved.
