Satyendar Jain complains of uneasiness, taken to hospital

The minister was being taken to Enforcement Directorate (ED)'s headquarters when he felt uneasy outside the court and was taken to the hospital by the ED officials. Counsel appearing for Jain said that a bail application has been moved on his behalf. Jain was produced before Rouse Avenue Court in the morning after the expiry of his custodial remand in connection with a money laundering case.

After hearing the argument, the court allowed the ED plea and extended the custodial remamd of Jain by five more days. The Enforcement Directorate had recently conducted raids at multiple locations belonging to Jain and his known persons, including relatives. A recovery of cash worth Rs 2.85 crore and 133 gold coins weighing 1.80 kg was made.

Subramanian Swamy demanded that the registration of the DMK must be cancelled for such "atrocious" statements by its leaders. He also urged the Election Commission to cancel DMK's election symbol and requested the poll panel to allow him to argue his case before it. Her son and former party chief Rahul Gandhi has been asked to appear before the the law enforcement agency on June 13 after he sought exemption on an earlier date. The ED had summoned the Gandhis to join the investigation in a money laundering case relating to the National Herald newspaper and record their statements on June 8.
