Presidential polls: Mamata leads charge, calls oppn meet on June 15
She has forwarded a letter to 22 leaders which include the chief ministers of different opposition-ruled states. The recipients of the letter include Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, among others.
Everything best in nation's interest will be done: Union Minister on anti-conversion law
He was commenting on the need of bringing anti-conversion law in the country. Recently, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had said that if required, then anti-conversion law will be brought in the state to prevent conversions. Baghel, on his visit to Goa, said that the nation will run as per constitution and law. "We will do everything which is in the best interest of the nation," Baghel told reporters here.

Congress state in-charge Vivek Bansal has spoken to party leadership regarding the action. Bishnoi, meanwhile, tweeted a cryptic message which read: "I have the capability to crush snakes' hood, do not leave the jungle in the fear of snakes."

The Congress chief was summoned on June 8 but she wrote to the ED informing that she had Covid-19 and hence, was unable to join the probe. Her son and former party chief Rahul Gandhi was summoned on June 2 but he couldn't join the probe too as he was abroad. The ED had then issued a second notice to him to join the probe on June 13.

Elections were held for six vacancies, with seven candidates were in fray, including three from BJP, two from Shiv Sena, and one each from Nationalist Congress Party and the Congress. All the BJP candidates -- Piyush Goyal, Anil Bonde and Dhananjay Mahadik have won the Rajya Sabha elections. The victors from the MVA are -- Sanjay Raut (Shiv Sena), Praful Patel (NCP) and Imran Pratapgarhi (Congress).

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has stated that as per the planning and strategy of the party, all 3 candidates from the BJP have won. "I thank all the MLAs for voting for the BJP," he said. BJP candidates were Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, film actor-turned-politician Jaggesh and former MLC Leher Singh, while the Congress had fielded former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh.
