Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections can be held by year end: Rajnath Singh
Addressing a function here, he said that the delimitation exercise was completed in J&K, recently following which the total number of assembly seats has been increased to 90, with the Jammu division having 43 seats and the Kashmir Valley having 47. There is a possibility that the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir can be held by this year-end, he said.
Trinamool only national party whose expense exceeded income in FY 20-21: Report
This has been revealed in a report titled 'Analysis of Income and Expenditure of National Political Parties for FY 2020-21', prepared jointly by the National Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms that was released on Friday. "AITC's total income was Rs 74.417 crore, while the party spent Rs 132.537 crore, which exceeds its income for that year by 78.10 per cent," the report said.

For 2nd time, no relief for NCP MLAs Deshmukh, Malik to vote
Justice N.J. Jamdar passed the orders in an interim bail plea filed by Deshmukh and a plea by Malik only seeking relief to enable him cast his vote under a police escort. Both leaders are from the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) ally Nationalist Congress Party. Deshmukh was arrested on November 2, 2021, and Malik was nabbed on February 23 this year under various cases of alleged corruption and money laundering by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Presidential poll: BJP's 14-member panel to manage campaign for NDA candidate
Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Tarun Chugh, vice-president D K Aruna, national secretary Rituraj Sinha, women's wing national president Vanati Srinavasan, spokesperson Sambit Patra and MP and vice-president of the party's Assam unit Rajdeep Roy are also part of the 14-member committee. Sources said that the committee will manage a nationwide campaign for the NDA candidate.
Opposition meet to pick Presidential candidate on June 21
Sources say that 17 parties will attend the meeting. The parties have to arrive at a consensus on the candidate's name after Sharad Pawar declined to contest. The opposition parties had on Wednesday decided to field a joint candidate in the Presidential polls next month.The meeting of opposition leaders, called by Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was held here for building a consensus on a joint opposition candidate.

ED raids multiple places linked to Satyendar Jain
Satyendar Jain was arrested on May 30 by the ED under section 19 of the PMLA. According to the sources, the ED officials were conducting raids at the office of a renowned public school chain. The school is being run by a trust. Its promoter and directors are being grilled as they have connections in the Jain case. The ED officials have not given any official reaction on this so far now.
BJP eyeing non-NDA parties who skipped Mamata meet for support
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief had sent invites for a meeting of opposition leaders to build consensus on a joint opposition candidate. Prominent names who skipped the opposition meet were Naveen Patnaik's Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), K. Chandrasekhar Rao's Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
