BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners unanimously adopted a resolution to appoint Narendra Modi as the leader of the alliance, congratulating the government's efforts for nation-building.
Alliance partners have lauded the transformational initiatives under Modi 2.0 and congratulated the Prime Minister for his vision and credited him with fast-tracking the growth of the nation.
The sources in the NDA meeting indicate that while hailing PM Modi as a dedicated visionary of \"Viksit Bharat,\" they have also acknowledged their active participation in this journey.
The resolution said: \"Under the leadership of Modi ji, the NDA government is committed to working for the poor, women, youth, farmers, and the underprivileged. The government, through the preservation of its heritage, is committed to work for comprehensive development and improvement in the standard of living.\"
The NDA partners also commended the Modi government for enhancing the global stature of India.
Among those attending the meeting at the Prime Minister's official residence included Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu, Eknath Shinde (CM), and LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan.
Notably, the election of Narendra Modi as the alliance leader clears his path for a third term as Prime Minister.
According to reports, the BJP Parliamentary Party is expected to meet on June 7 to formally elect Narendra Modi as its leader, while on the same day, the allies are expected to elect him as the NDA leader in Parliament, for which the swearing-in is likely to take place on June 8.
