Lalan Singh Defends JD(U)-BJP Alliance as Unbreakable and Cautions Congress About Potential Downfall

Singh, a JD(U) representative from Munger, drew a comparison to the game of Ludo, suggesting that Congress would face a major setback akin to a snake on the board that causes a player to fall from 99 back to zero.

Union Minister Lalan Singh took a strong stance against the Opposition’s criticisms of Bihar's budgetary allocations, asserting that attempts to stir discord would be ineffective given the unbreakable alliance between the JD(U) and the BJP.

Singh, a JD(U) representative from Munger, drew a comparison to the game of Ludo, suggesting that Congress would face a major setback akin to a snake on the board that causes a player to fall from 99 back to zero.

"Bihar and Andhra Pradesh are essential components of India. The real reason behind the opposition's protests is their difficulty in accepting Narendra Modi's third consecutive Lok Sabha victory. Their criticism of PM Modi is evident as they prefer to focus on him rather than engaging with the Budget discussions," Singh stated during his Lok Sabha address on Friday.

"The opposition’s true problem lies in their refusal to accept the NDA’s electoral success and their denial of the reality. There’s no alternative when the country has given a clear mandate in favor of PM Modi. Attempts to create division will be in vain, as the partnership between JD(U) and BJP is as firmly bonded as Fevicol," Singh added.

He also mentioned that the JD(U) exited the INDIA bloc due to the constant scheming within the alliance to pit parties against each other, likening their behavior to that of a vulture trying to snatch its share of power.

“We were aligned with them in Bihar, but they fought like vultures for power. That’s why the JD(U) decided to leave the INDIA bloc,” Singh explained.

Using a Ludo analogy, Singh highlighted the precariousness of being at 99, suggesting that Congress’s situation might lead to a similar downfall if they fail to recognize their lack of mandate. “Being on 99 is risky. As seen in Ludo, landing on 99 can lead to a snake bite, sending a player back to zero. Congress must accept their lack of a mandate or face a similar setback in future elections,” he warned.

The remarks elicited strong reactions from Congress MPs Jai Prakash and Deepender Hooda, though Jagdmbika Pal, who was chairing the session, dismissed their objections.

Singh countered Congress’s claims about Haryana’s neglect in the Budget by referring to Sirsa MP Kumari Selja’s speech. “I listened to Selja ji’s entire address. It was entirely focused on Haryana. This Budget is for the entire nation, not just Haryana,” he stated.

He also criticized Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee for his harsh critique of the Modi government in Parliament. “Abhishek Banerjee argued that this Budget isn’t beneficial for the people. However, he has ignored the issues in Bengal, where women have faced attacks and torture. He should address these concerns, but remains silent.

“A Congress leader mentioned that district monitoring committee meetings have not been held in his constituency for five years due to Trinamool's misconduct. Why are such issues being overlooked?” Singh questioned, referring to Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s criticism of Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee.
