“JDU (Janata Dal-United) and TDP (Telugu Desam Party) are strongly in the NDA. We will support the person nominated (for Speaker) by the BJP,” KC Tyagi told news agency ANI.

Tyagi made this statement in response to speculation from some Opposition leaders suggesting that the new Lok Sabha speaker could be from either the TDP or JD(U).

Currently, the BJP heads a coalition government with its partners at the Centre.

Tyagi’s remarks suggest that the BJP will likely present its own candidate for the speaker's post, indicating that the nominee will not be from its allied parties.
