JD-S Leader Revanna Remanded to SIT Custody Until May 8 in Sex Video Victim Kidnap Case; Helpline for Victims Launched

Kattimani before a commissioner at his residence in Bengaluru's Koramangala area to seek five days of custody. The SIT presented its report and listed 15 points to justify the need to take the politician for questioning.

A Karnataka court ruled in a sex video scandal case involving former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda's son, JD-S legislator H.D. Revanna, ordering the politician to be handed over to the SIT of Bengaluru police till May 8.

The SIT took Revanna to the 17th Additional City Metropolitan Magistrate Ravindra Kumar B. Kattimani before a commissioner at his residence in Bengaluru's Koramangala area to seek five days of custody. The SIT presented its report and listed 15 points to justify the need to take the politician for questioning.

Revanna was arrested on Saturday evening in the abduction case of one of the victims of the sex video scandal relating to his son.

The police formally presented the case before the court as the SIT's lawyer said to the court, "the case was serious and the victim was in distress and that Revanna, health-conscious due to his ailment, was an important witness and should be kept in custody for his statement."

Revanna's lawyer Muthy D. Naik accused the SIT of putting undue pressure on his client and told the court his client was not well and had to be put in a conducive environment and a proper diet.

The magistrate allowed Revanna to meet his lawyer for one hour. He instructed the SIT to provide Revanna with proper food arrangements.

The SIT has set up a helpline for the victims related to the s*x video scandal. The SIT said its investigation found several more victims and victims and informants who needed legal advice and protection should contact the helpline (6360938947).

Karnataka Police filed an FIR against Revanna for alleged involvement in the abduction of a woman, suspected to be one of the persons involved in the sx video scandal involving his son. The woman's son had filed a missing person report, saying his mother had gone missing after the surfacing of a purported sx video involving Revanna. He further alleged that his mother was being held at an unknown location, appealing the police to take legal action against Revanna and Satish Babu, a relative, who was arrested in Mysuru district on the same day.

Reports suggest that Prajwal Revanna, the sitting JD-S MP from Hassan, has fled the country.
