Cannes 2024: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Dazzles in Second Red Carpet Stint in Blue-Silver Ensemble"

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a stunning appearance at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival during her second red carpet appearance. She was looking gracious and elegant in a gown by the ace designer duo Falguni Shane Peacock.

She was dressed in a showstopper of a look, complete with a sweeping trail and bold, commanding shoulders with metallic fringe. The actress, who had a cast on her right hand due to an injury, still managed to look like a vision on the red carpet.

She has been gracing the Cannes Film Festival for twenty years, and her first appearance at the 2024 edition a day earlier was just as stunning. Wearing another Falguni Shane Peacock creation, the actor dazzled in a monochrome gown with 3D metallic elements and gold accents as she walked the red carpet for the premiere of Francis Ford Coppola's "Megalopolis," which stars the enigmatic Adam Driver.

In a star-studded lineup at Cannes, actor Kiara Advani made a memorable debut on the French Riviera. She dazzled in a resplendent draped ivory crepe back satin designed by none other than Prabal Gurung. The actor represented India at the Women in Cinema Gala dinner by the prestigious Red Sea Film Foundation. Kiara took to Instagram and shared her excitement and wrote, "Rendezvous at the Riviera."

Cannes is not all glitz and glamour. It provides the much-needed platform to showcase Indian talent on the global stage. Some of the notable entries are Payal Kapadia's "All We Imagine As Light," that competes for the prestigious Palme d'Or; Sandhya Suri's "Santosh" will titillate the audiences in the Un Certain Regard section. Not to forget that "Sunflowers Were the First Ones to Know," a short film by students from Film and Television Institute of India, has drawn eyeballs in the La Cinef Competitive section.

Adding to the festival's repertoire were Karan Kandhari's "Sister Midnight" in Directors' Fortnight and Maisam Ali's impactful "In Retreat" in L'Acid. Not to be missed out, a restored version of Shyam Benegal's timeless 1976 classic, "Manthan," was presented under Cannes Classics, celebrating cinema and legacy.
