The demand for an apology from Rahul Gandhi has been raised by the BJP in light of the closure report submitted by the Telangana Police regarding the Rohith Vemula suicide case.
Furthermore, the BJP has accused the Congress and its allies of exploiting Dalits for their own political agendas.
Highlighting the fact that the Congress holds power in Telangana, the BJP posed the question: "Now that the Telangana Police, under the Congress administration, has submitted a closure report in court, asserting that Rohith Vemula was not a Dalit and his demise was a result of suicide, will Rahul Gandhi extend an apology to the Dalit community?"
Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP IT Cell, condemned Rahul Gandhi for politicizing the matter and utilized his official social media platform on X to share a video of his address in the Lok Sabha.
Accompanying the video, Malviya's caption read: "Rahul Gandhi exploited the tragic death of Rohit Vemula for his own political agenda within the parliamentary chambers. Now that the Telangana Police, functioning under a Congress-led government, has submitted a closure report, clarifying that Vemula was not affiliated with the SC community and his death was by his own hand, will Rahul Gandhi extend his apologies to the Dalit community?"
In a further critique of the Congress and other opposition factions, Malviya remarked, "The Congress and its purportedly 'secular' counterparts have frequently manipulated Dalit issues for their political gains, yet consistently failed to deliver justice. This occurrence is yet another illustration of their opportunistic behavior."
