In a statement posted on the official X account of TVK - Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam, the 49-year-old actor conveyed his thanks to respected leaders from various political parties, his beloved friends in the film fraternity, the affectionate people of Tamil Nadu, supportive media friends, and his steadfast supporters, 'En Nenjil Kudiyirukkum Thozargal'. He appreciated their wishes for his new political journey, emphasizing his commitment to the welfare and victory of Tamil Nadu.
Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam, translating to 'Tamil Nadu Victory Party,' is Vijay's political venture, and he will be a candidate in the 2026 Assembly polls. Notably, his party has decided not to endorse any candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Vijay, renowned for his roles in films such as "Leo," "Mersal," "Master," and "Bigil," highlighted that an application for the registration of Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam has been submitted to the Election Commission of India.
