Govt to Support Protesting UP Public Service Commission Aspirants: Deputy CM Maurya

The state government has taken the demands of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission aspirants and officials very seriously and have been asked to find a solution said Deputy Chief Minister.

In this regard, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, also the BJP leader of Uttar Pradesh, has assured that the aspirants protest gets the complete support of the BJP government.

Slamming Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government over 'police action' against protesting UPPSC aspirants, Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav said Wednesday that the Uttar Pradesh government was playing with their future.
SP Chief also supported the demands of the aspirants and called it justified.

"They are lathi-charging the youth who came to Prayagraj seeking jobs. They are protesting for their studies. They are not even worried that the government is playing with their future. The demands of the candidates are justified," he said.
It was the third consecutive day of protest outside the UPPSC building in Prayagraj on Wednesday. Students preparing for the UPPSC on Wednesday had held a candlelight march.

The protesting candidates are demanding that the UPPSC exams must be conducted in single shift like before in PCS and RO/ARO exams to make the process more fair and more manageable.
The agitations started after UPPSC declared its decision to conduct RO-ARO exams in two days with multiple shifts.

This earlier on Wednesday was students sloganeering outside Prayagraj Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Gate No-2 .

UP Police has registered an FIR against 12 individuals in connection with vandalisation during a protest demanding that UPPSC exams be held in a single shift.

According to the officials, a few miscreants broke barriers and destroyed coaching boards on Tuesday night following which the Police registered an FIR against 12 individuals.

"An FIR has been lodged against 12 people. Some people have also been taken into police custody," said Abhishek Bharti, Deputy Commissioner of Police while speaking from Prayagraj.

UPPSC officials have visited the protest site to explain the policies and ask for suggestions. The protestors have, therefore, proposed better alternatives, beating their respective colleagues to the rest of the count.
