Former Prime Minister and JD(S) National President HD Deve Gowda met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, and sources suggest that the meeting involved discussions on the seat-sharing alliance between BJP and JD(S) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

While Deve Gowda had initially stated that the meeting would be informal and not involve discussions about an alliance and seat-sharing, sources now indicate that JD(S) is aiming to contest in four to five MP seats in the state as part of the alliance with BJP. An official announcement on the matter is expected soon.

Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the meeting on social media, expressing delight in meeting Deve Gowda and appreciating his exemplary contribution to the nation's progress. The outcome of this meeting could have significant implications for the political landscape in Karnataka ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
