Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Uneasy Night in Tihar Jail

The high-security prison, Jail No. 2, is closely guarded by security personnel, with Quick Response Teams (QRT) on standby and an extensive network of 650 CCTV cameras ensuring constant surveillance of the inmates.

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, found his first night in Tihar Jail no-2 to be restless, according to sources on Tuesday.

The high-security prison, Jail No. 2, is closely guarded by security personnel, with Quick Response Teams (QRT) on standby and an extensive network of 650 CCTV cameras ensuring constant surveillance of the inmates.

Reportedly, Kejriwal spent some time trying to rest on a cement platform and was seen pacing in his cell late into the night.

Sources revealed that Kejriwal was provided with home-cooked food for lunch and will continue to receive such meals for both lunch and dinner until his blood sugar levels stabilize. His morning blood sugar levels were reported to be at 50.

Furthermore, Kejriwal has been granted permission to meet designated Delhi government officials regarding official matters, subject to approval from the court.

Jail no 2 houses approximately 650 inmates, the majority of whom have been convicted.

Kejriwal is allowed to meet his family members twice a week, provided their names are on the approved list cleared by prison authorities. Regular health check-ups will also be conducted for Kejriwal, given his diabetes condition.

Television access is granted to Kejriwal, with a selection of 18 to 20 channels available for news, entertainment, and sports viewing, except during designated prison activities.

It has been reported that Kejriwal's wife is expected to visit him on Tuesday.
