For the past decade, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) governed the national capital and repeatedly pledged to clean the Yamuna but failed to make substantial progress. Now, the BJP-led government has placed the river’s restoration among its top priorities.

The swearing-in ceremony is taking place at Ramlila Maidan, with top BJP leadership present. The ceremony will also witness participation from party workers, supporters, and members of the public, reflecting the BJP's extensive outreach.
