CM Yogi Criticizes Congress for Inheritance Tax Proposal, Drawing Historical Parallel with Aurangzeb's 'Jizya'

Comparing Congress's proposal to implement an inheritance tax to the revival of the age-old policies of Aurangzeb, Adityanath pointed out the irony behind Congress, whose leadership becomes a source of pride for many Indians, espousing this anti-Hindu policy. 

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath refused to hold his tongue at all when criticizing Congress leaders for demanding the imposition of an 'inheritance tax'. In support of BJP candidate Jyotiraditya Scindia, during a roadshow in Madhya Pradesh's Ashok Nagar, he compared the proposed tax to the infamous 'Jizya' tax levied by Mughal commander Aurangzeb on Hindus.

He pointed to the commitment of Prime Minister Modi, on the other hand, who was determined to end subjugation and pay homage to India's cultural heritage.

No doubt emboldened by BJP-NDA prospects in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Adityanath remarkably noted that there is a nationwide wave in favor of PM Modi across the country, where he has extended his campaign into nine states.

Pointing at the historic importance of the Scindia family, Adityanath gave full credit to them for having driven Afghans out of the Indian frontiers and remembered Vijaya Raje Scindia for his contribution toward the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Announcing his switch from Congress to BJP in March 2020, Jyotiraditya Scindia, who is going to contest his sixth Lok Sabha elections from his family bastion, Guna. Earlier contesting the 2019 elections in Congress colors, he was beaten by BJP's K.P. Yadav.

Rao Yadvendra Singh Yadav has been nominated by the Congress to challenge Scindia. On May 7, elections will be held for Guna and eight other Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha seats, including Bhopal and Vidisha.
