During a press conference held on Tuesday, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar emphasized the necessity of maintaining fairness and orderliness during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal. Kumar stated that strict directives have been issued to the state bureaucracy to uphold a level playing field for all political parties, underscoring the Election Commission's commitment to ensuring free, fair, and violence-free elections.

In order to uphold the integrity of the electoral process, Kumar announced the deployment of an adequate number of central forces in West Bengal, ensuring impartiality in their distribution. He further stressed that senior police officials have been instructed to promptly address any complaints of intimidation and to take immediate action against such incidents. Additionally, police authorities have been directed to maintain impartiality and accessibility to all political parties at the district level, reaffirming the Election Commission's commitment to fostering an environment conducive to democratic participation.
