BJP's Moradabad Candidate Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar Passes Away

Confirming the news, Bhupendra Chaudhary, the Uttar Pradesh BJP chief, relayed the somber information to the press through PTI. "Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar has passed away," he stated, shedding light on Kumar's health struggles, particularly a throat ailment that necessitated surgery. Chaudhary revealed that Kumar had visited AIIMS for a routine check-up the day before his demise.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffered a significant loss with the passing of Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar, their Lok Sabha candidate from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. Succumbing to illness, Kumar, aged 72, breathed his last at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi on April 20.

Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar had been among the contenders vying for the Moradabad parliamentary seat, which saw elections commence in the first phase on April 19. Previously holding the position of Lok Sabha MP from Moradabad between 2014 and 2019, Kumar faced defeat in the 2019 elections to SP's ST Hasan, who was jointly fielded by the BSP, SP, and RLD.

His political journey also encompassed five terms as a BJP MLA representing the Thakurdwara assembly constituency in Moradabad, spanning from 1991 to 2007 and again from 2012 to 2014.

Expressing grief over Kumar's demise, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took to social media to extend condolences. "I am shocked by the demise of BJP candidate from Moradabad Lok Sabha constituency and former MP Kunwar Sarvesh Singh ji," he wrote. Adityanath offered prayers for the departed soul and strength to Kumar's family and supporters.

Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar is survived by his wife Sadhna Singh, a son, and a daughter.
