The BJP criticized the Congress government for inviting Kaul, insinuating that her views sympathizing with Pakistan and advocating for India's division were in opposition to the Indian Constitution. They questioned the Chief Minister's decision to extend the invitation, accusing him of undermining the country's unity and integrity.

The Karnataka BJP has made grave accusations against the Congress government regarding the reported deportation of British academic and writer Nitasha Kaul from Bengaluru, alleging the government's use of taxpayer funds to support individuals with controversial affiliations. Kaul was detained upon her arrival at KempeGowda International Airport and subsequently sent back to London. Despite having an invitation to speak at a conference organized by the Karnataka government, Kaul claimed she was denied entry into India.

According to the BJP, the incident highlights the Congress party's divisive agendas and its exploitation of Karnataka as a testing ground for such strategies, which they argue could jeopardize national unity. They commended the security agencies for apprehending Kaul, whom they labeled as an "anti-India element" attempting to enter the country suspiciously.

Kaul, an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholder residing in London, expressed her dismay over being denied entry, citing her valid documents and the invitation from the Karnataka government. She recounted her ordeal of spending hours at immigration, being held in a cell with limited amenities, and eventually being sent back to London without explanation, allegedly on orders from Delhi.
