In a missive addressed to party members ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 19, Palaniswami underscored the resilience displayed by the AIADMK since its establishment in 1972.

He metaphorically likened the process of purging undesirable elements within the AIADMK to weeding a field, asserting that the party now stands prepared for fruitful endeavors. This could be interpreted as a veiled reference to the expulsion of O Panneerselvam and his supporters.

He evoked the party's long history, citing instances of challenges and triumphs since its inception, implying that the current challenges are but another hurdle to overcome.
