Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed heartfelt tributes on Sunday to the victims and heroes of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack. He emphasized that this tragic incident, marked by its heinous nature, left an indelible impact on the nation's memory.

During the 107th episode of his monthly broadcast program, 'Mann Ki Baat,' the Prime Minister reflected on the courage and resilience of India. He underlined that the country, in the face of such adversity, is resolutely responding to terrorist activities.

"We can never forget this day when India faced its most heinous terror attack," Modi stated, recalling the grim events that unfolded on that fateful day. He lauded the strength and determination of India, emphasizing that the nation not only overcame the attack but is also delivering a fitting response to terrorism.

In a solemn tone, the Prime Minister paid homage to both the innocent lives lost and the valiant individuals who sacrificed themselves in the line of duty to protect the nation. The 2008 Mumbai terror attacks claimed the lives of 166 people, including six Americans.

The orchestrated assault involved 10 well-trained Pakistani terrorists who orchestrated a more than 60-hour siege. They targeted and killed people at iconic and strategic locations in Mumbai, including Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Hotel Taj, Trident Hotel, Nariman House—a Jewish Centre, among others. The Prime Minister's words served as a poignant reminder of the resilience and unity that defines the spirit of India in the face of adversity.
