'Modi ki Guarantee' We will implement UCC in entire country : Amit Shah

Speaking at an election rally in Madhya Pradesh's Guna, Amit Shah lambasted the Congress for indulging in appeasement politics through the advocacy of personal law reforms.

Ensuring it's stamped with the seal of 'Modi ki Guarantee' (PM Modi's assurance), Home Minister Amit Shah proclaimed on Friday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government is committed to enforcing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) nationwide.

Speaking at an election rally in Madhya Pradesh's Guna, Amit Shah lambasted the Congress for indulging in appeasement politics through the advocacy of personal law reforms.

"Rahul Baba, continue with your appeasement tactics as much as you want. As long as the BJP is at the helm, we won't allow the dilution of personal laws. The foundation of our nation will be the Uniform Civil Code. It's ingrained in our Constitution's essence; we've already introduced UCC in Uttarakhand. This is Modi ji's pledge, and we'll ensure the UCC's implementation across the nation," Shah asserted before the assembled crowd.

He further highlighted that despite Congress' warnings of a bloodbath upon the removal of Article 370, not a single violent incident has occurred in Jammu and Kashmir post its abrogation.

“It’s been five years since Article 370 was removed… Forget about bloodshed, not a single stone was pelted. This is the Narendra Modi-led BJP government, and not the Congress government,” he said.

Contesting on the BJP platform for the first time from Guna was a key change in the voting allegiance of ex-Congressman and former union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who had lost the 2019 Lok Sabha elections to the BJP's K.P. Yadav. A year later, Scindia and 22 of his loyalist MLAs switched sides and joined the BJP.
