Indian Light Tank 'Zorawar' Successfully Clears Field Firing Trials in Deserts

According to a statement issued by the Defence Ministry, the Defence Research and Development Organisation conducted field trials of Zorawar, which can be deployed in high-altitude areas in the desert terrain, and it has turned out exceptionally well, successfully achieving all the objectives for which it was aimed at.

The army in a statement said that based on intelligence inputs, a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched in Chatroo at Kishtwar. Contact has been established with terrorists at 1530 hours. Two soldiers, the army said were killed in action in the ensuing firefight. The operation is on.

The Defence Ministry said the missile system had successfully tracked and engaged the target. "The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Navy today successfully conducted the flight test of Vertical Launch Short Range Surface-to-Air Missile (VL-SRSAM) from Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha," it said.
