Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a strong message to the Pakistani people on Monday, urging them to own up to nudging their country out of the clutches of terrorism.
Speaking at a public rally, he appealed to Pakistani youth to wake up and declared, "Live a life of peace and eat your roti calmly, or else, my bullet is always ready."
Talking of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 people, mostly tourists, dead, PM Modi said India waited for two weeks for Pakistan to act. As nothing was done, he ordered the armed forces to strike back strongly via Operation Sindoor.
Pronouncing judgement on Pakistan for encouraging terror, he said, "India believes in tourism. It brings people together. But Pakistan believes terrorism is tourism. This is a huge threat to the world."
He pointed out that Operation Sindoor is a demonstration of India's unyielding attitude towards terrorism. "Anyone who makes India bleed will bleed too. Nobody will be spared," said the Prime Minister.
Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, was a full-blown retaliation against the Pahalgam incident. The Indian defense forces hit terror camps along the border in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) targeting and destroying them, killing more than 100 terrorists, according to government sources.
Indian forces also attacked Pakistani airbases as a response to cross-border aggression, communicating a strong and decisive message regarding India's stand against terror.
During his trip to Bhuj, Gujarat, PM Modi also inaugurated multiple infrastructure and development initiatives valued at more than ₹53,400 crore. The projects span sectors such as green energy, port development at Kandla, and extensive upgrades in road and water infrastructure.
He remarked, “Earlier, all of Gujarat wouldn’t get such big projects. Today, just one district is getting this. This shows how far we’ve come.”
Looking back on his emotional bond with the area, he further said, "When Narmada water came here for the first time, it was like Diwali. You gave me the opportunity to do that. Kutchh's resilience and belief in itself have always motivated me."
