Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that Uttar Pradesh will become a defense hub and BrahMos missile will be made in Lucknow. He made these remarks while speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of BrahMoS missile production unit and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) lab in Lucknow.
"This lab will take the state in a new direction. Uttar Pradesh will become a defense hub, and BrahMos missile will be made in Lucknow as well as research will be done," the UP chief minister said. CM Yogi also emphasized that the project will create many employment opportunities.
Yogi Adityanath further said that India gives the message of friendly compassion to the world, however, it does not mean the country will permit to let down its security.

The chief minister also announced that work has already been started in all the six Defense corridors under the UP Defence Industrial Corridor. The ₹400 crore Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor project has nodes at Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Lucknow, and Kanpur.
Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was also a part of the foundation stone laying ceremony. The defense minister on Sunday said that the BrahMos missile and other weapons that India is manufacturing are not to attack any other country.
"We want to manufacture BrahMos on Indian soil so that no country has the audacity to cast an evil eye on India," Singh said. "India should have nuclear deterrents so that no country in the world attacks us, and we have shown this," he added.

He made these remarks while speaking at the ceremony. Singh further said that it had never been India's character to attack any other country or grab even an inch of the land of any country and the manufacture of BrahMos missiles and other weapons is to ensure that no other country has the audacity to cast an evil eye on India.
