Terrorist Activities Have Increased in Rajouri-Poonch, Says Army Chief

The rise in terrorist activities has been observed over the last few months, despite a significant drop in violence in the interior areas of Jammu and Kashmir and a reduction in infiltration, thanks to the efforts of security personnel.

Indian Army Chief, Gen Manoj Pande, stated on Monday that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is under control, but there has been an increase in terrorist activities in the Rajouri-Poonch area and the southern region of Pir Panjal in the Jammu zone. 

The rise in terrorist activities has been observed over the last few months, despite a significant drop in violence in the interior areas of Jammu and Kashmir and a reduction in infiltration, thanks to the efforts of security personnel.

Gen Pande, speaking at the Army Day celebration, did not explicitly name China but mentioned that the situation on the northern border has indicated stability. He emphasized that a sufficient number of soldiers are deployed, and this deployment will be maintained. 

Regarding the Eastern Ladakh dispute, he highlighted that operational preparedness remains at a high level, and ongoing talks at military and diplomatic levels aim to find a solution to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) issues.
