Supreme Court Orders Immediate Surrender for Satyendar Jain

With Justice Bela M. Trivedi leading the Bench, the court directed Jain to surrender promptly to the authorities. Despite Jain's counsel requesting a week's grace period, the Bench, including Justice Pankaj Mithal, remained firm in its decision.

The Supreme Court made a significant decision on Monday by rejecting the regular bail plea put forth by Satyendar Jain, an influential figure from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a former Minister of Delhi, concerning an alleged money laundering case.

In a decisive ruling, the Bench dismissed all appeals, including those of Jain's co-accused, Ankush Jain and Vaibhav Jain, mandating Satyendar Jain's immediate surrender. It's worth noting that Jain is currently on interim medical bail, a relief granted earlier by the apex court.

Initially, the Supreme Court had granted Jain interim relief for six weeks in May of the previous year, which was extended subsequently. Jain's plea for bail came in response to the Delhi High Court's rejection of his regular bail petition, citing concerns that his influential status could potentially lead to tampering with evidence.
