Referring to BJP's Opposition for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh (UP) assembly elections, Samajwadi Party (SP), Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the ones wearing red caps are like a red alert for UP. The Prime Minister also said that the party is least concerned about the public and more concerned about the power to fill their own coffers. He made these remarks while addressing the public after the inauguration of the three mega projects, the AIIMS, a fertilizer plant and a new ICMR centre in Gorakhpur.
Key Points :
1. In his opening remarks the Prime Minister said that the entire UP is aware that the ‘laal topi’ have been concerned about ‘laal batti (red beacon)’ and the party is least concerned about the pain and sorrows of the public. Without naming the party, the PM said these red caps have lost the ideologies and discipline of socialists Ram Manohar Lohia and Jai Prakash Narayan long ago.
2. "Those laal topi wallas want the power to commit scams, fill their own coffers, illegal grabbing [of properties and resources] and give free hand to the mafia,” said Modi. He further said that the redcaps are a party that would show mercy to terrorists and set them free while they only care for what they earn.
3. Modi also accused the previous government of double standards as they did not show any interest in the fertilizer plants and the AIIMS project, even though they were aware of the farmer's requirements and the demand for the medical college.
