Rajnath Singh Condemns China's Renaming of Arunachal Pradesh Locations, Hails State's Residents as Strategic Assets

Speaking at an election rally in Namsai, situated within the Arunachal East parliamentary constituency, Singh questioned the implication of renaming places, asking whether such actions would result in a change of ownership. Quoting the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he emphasized the significance of maintaining cordial relations with neighboring countries, highlighting that while friendships may evolve, geographical proximity remains constant.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh rebuked China's recent endeavor to rename 30 locations in Arunachal Pradesh, emphasizing that altering names within Indian territory holds no merit in the eyes of the nation. He underscored the strategic importance of the people residing in the easternmost region, labeling them as invaluable assets to India.

Asserting India's commitment to fostering friendly relations with its neighbors, Singh reiterated India's readiness to defend its integrity and self-respect if challenged. He commended the patriotism of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, recognizing their contribution as strategic allies, particularly in times of conflict with China.

Singh lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritizing the development of India's northeastern region, emphasizing the government's track record of fulfilling promises, including significant reforms such as the abrogation of Article 370, construction of the Ram Mandir, enactment of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and abolition of Triple Talaq.

Highlighting Modi's transformative governance, Singh credited the Prime Minister for lifting millions out of poverty during his tenure. He also commended Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu for his effective leadership, hailing him as one of the country's successful chief ministers.

Accompanied by BJP candidate Tapir Gao and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Singh concluded the rally by reaffirming the government's unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of the region.
