Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the government's commitment to equipping the armed forces with the latest weapons and platforms to ensure the nation's protection from potential threats. Speaking at an event in Surat organized by an NGO to honor fallen heroes and support their families, Singh assured the nation that the military is prepared to face any challenges and will respond effectively to anyone attempting to harm the country.
Singh highlighted the collective responsibility of the nation in ensuring the welfare of the families of fallen heroes, serving and retired soldiers, and their dependents. He praised the Armed Forces for their dedication, sacrifice, and patriotism, emphasizing that their efforts are crucial for a safe and prosperous India.
Paying rich tributes to the brave soldiers, Singh asserted that the nation will forever remain indebted to those who safeguard the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the country. He commended the Armed Forces for successfully discharging their duties with the government's 'India first, security first' approach, contributing to a sense of security that allows people to participate in nation-building.
Drawing parallels between the process of creating diamonds and the transformation of youth into extraordinary soldiers, Singh highlighted the challenging circumstances under which soldiers serve the nation, shaping ordinary youth into exceptional individuals who protect the country. He expressed gratitude to the family members of these soldiers, describing them as "diamonds whose shine illuminates the entire country."
Taking the opportunity to encourage business leaders, Singh urged them to prioritize nation-building over personal gains, viewing money as a means and not the ultimate life goal. He also spoke about the historical significance of Gujarat and its role in the progress of the nation, citing prominent figures such as poet Narsingh Mehta, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi who have contributed to India's growth and security.
