On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a batch of ten new Vande Bharat Express trains, signaling a significant advancement in India's railway network. This momentous occasion unfolded at the Operation Control Centre of the Dedicated Freight Corridor in Ahmedabad, symbolizing a pivotal stride in the country's transportation sector.
The freshly introduced Vande Bharat Express trains boast state-of-the-art facilities and impressive speeds, amplifying connectivity across various states. Among the new routes are Ahmedabad to Mumbai Central, Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam, Mysuru to Dr. MGR Central (Chennai), Patna to Lucknow, New Jalpaiguri to Patna, Puri to Visakhapatnam, Lucknow to Dehradun, Kalaburagi to Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru, Ranchi to Varanasi, and Khajuraho to Delhi (Nizamuddin).
In tandem with the introduction of new services, Prime Minister Modi also announced the extension of four existing Vande Bharat trains, expanding their reach to cover additional destinations. Notable extensions include the Ahmedabad-Jamnagar route now extending to Dwarka, the Ajmer-Delhi Sarai Rohilla train reaching Chandigarh, the Gorakhpur-Lucknow service extending to Prayagraj, and the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod train now stretching to Mangaluru.
Moreover, the ceremony witnessed Prime Minister Modi inaugurating two new passenger trains connecting Asansol to Hatia and Tirupati to Kollam, further enriching the nation's railway network.
