On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that the recent visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to India and his active participation in the Republic Day celebrations will significantly enhance the longstanding friendship between India and France. Macron, who served as the chief guest during the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, had embarked on a two-day visit to India last month.
Sharing a video montage of his visit on X, Macron wrote, "A look back at an exceptional trip in India." Responding to the post, Prime Minister Modi conveyed his gratitude, stating, "It was an honor to have you in India, President @EmmanuelMacron. Your visit and engagement in the Republic Day celebrations will undoubtedly strengthen the bond between India and France."
During Macron's visit on January 26, India and France unveiled an ambitious defense industrial roadmap aimed at co-developing critical military hardware. Additionally, both nations solidified plans for a space situational awareness program. Notably, the Tata Group and Airbus announced a collaborative effort to build H125 helicopters, a significant development resulting from discussions between Modi and Macron.
