PM Modi inaugurates Kashi Vishwanath Corridor amid chants of 'Har Har Mahadev'

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his constituency inaugurated the first phase of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, with the chants of Har Har Mahadev. The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor is a dream project of PM Modi. The corridor aims to connect the ancient Kashi Vishwanath temple to the ghats of the river Ganga. The project will transform the whole temple complex and the corridor covers an area of 5,000 hectares.

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his constituency inaugurated the first phase of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, with the chants of Har Har Mahadev. Prior to the inauguration, PM Modi took a holy dip in river Ganga and offered prayers. The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor is a dream project of PM Modi. The corridor aims to connect the ancient Kashi Vishwanath temple to the ghats of the river Ganga. The project will transform the whole temple complex and the corridor covers an area of 5,000 hectares.

1. On the occasion of the inauguration of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, PM Modi said, New history is being created; we are fortunate to have witnessed it. He also called the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor Project, a symbol of India's spiritual soul."Today, a new chapter is being written in the history of Kashi Vishwanath. Kashi Vishwanath Dham premises is not just a grand building but a symbol of India's culture and traditions. Kashi shows how inspirations of the ancient are giving direction to the future," PM added. 

2. He further said "Around 50 to 75 thousand devotees can now be accommodated in the temple premises." Alongwith this he expressed his gratitude towards each and every labourer, who has been in the construction process of the Kashi Vishwanath Complex.

3. In order to connect with the locals, PM Modi spoke in Bhojpuri as well. He also urged people to make three promises to him. Promise of cleanliness, innovation and self-reliance. "India is moving towards a new tomorrow but we need to work harder on cleanliness. We also need to stress on innovation. Startups are changing the face of the country and we need to carry it forward. We also have to emphasise on 'Atmanirbhar' which is essential to make the country strong," PM said.

4. This project also aims to boost tourism in not only Varanasi but in adjoining pilgrims like Sarnath, as well. With a vision to restore the "lost glory" of Varanasi, the project was launched in March 2019, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The project costs Rs-800-crore.  

5. Along with Prime Minister Modi, the inauguration ceremony was also attended by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BJP president J.P. Nadda, Deputy Chief Ministers Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Maurya, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Mahendra Pandey and state BJP president Swatantra Dev Singh.
