Plans to fly Delhi? Here's all you need to know about new guidelines

The advent of new covid variant- Omicron with already present Delta variant has been the issue of concern worldwide. Thermal screening at the airport and random sample collection will take place under the fresh guidelines issued by the Civil Aviation ministry on Thursday.

In view of the fresh surge in daily Covid19 infections, the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has issued new guidelines for national and international travelers flying to Delhi. The advent of new covid variant- Omicron with already present Delta variant has been the issue of concern worldwide. In India, Delhi and Mumbai account for the highest number of cases of new variants. Thermal screening at the airport and random sample collection will take place under the fresh guidelines issued by the Civil Aviation ministry on Thursday.

New guidelines for air-passengers traveling to Delhi | Key points


1. In a tweet, the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has informed about the new guidelines being issued for passengers willing to land in Delhi. “Attention Travelers! Traveling to Delhi? Take a look at the latest State-wise Quarantine Guidelines. Take all the necessary measures and be a #COVID_Hero #TravelSafeTravelMindfully,” the tweet read.

2. Passengers arriving from states where there is a spurt in Covid19 cases will have to undergo random sample testing. Passengers will be allowed to take exit from the airport, once their sample is collected.

3. All passengers are required to undergo thermal screening upon arrival.

4. Passengers who have a connecting flight, they have to refer to the guidelines of their arrival state.

5. Travelers testing covid positive, are subjected to quarantine for 10 days at home or Covid Care Centre/ Community Health Centre/Hospital.

6. International travelers have to go through the guidelines mentioned on the official Airports Authority of India (AAI) website.
 


7. There are some passenger obligations as well, first, all the passengers are required to download the Aarogya Setu app and second, destination airports/states have to do thermal screening of all the passengers post-arrival.
